The Presidency is calling on South Africans to nominate people who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and the country for National Orders.
Nominations close on September 30 and must include a motivation and details of the nominee’s achievements or service.
The six National Orders recognise contributions in areas including community service, science, culture, sport, nation-building and bravery.

Gauteng has opened its 40th School of Specialisation, with MEC Lebogang Maile launching the Clapham Sports School of Specialisation in Queenswood, Pretoria.
The school combines sport, academics and practical skills to give learners broader opportunities.

Founder of the Heal Our Children initiative, Malcolm Johnson, is leading a team walking from Richards Bay to Cape Town to raise funds for children receiving care at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
The Heal Our Children Marathon Walk began on September 7, with the team expected to reach Cape Town in mid-October.
The fundraiser supports The Children’s Hospital Trust, which helps improve healthcare for seriously ill and injured children.
