AAD Expo Opens Aerospace Careers To Young South Africans

The Africa Aerospace and Defence Expo gets underway in Tshwane this week, with a focus not only on the industry but also on developing South Africa’s next generation of talent.
The AAD Youth Development Programme will give about 3,000 Grade 9 to 11 learners, along with selected Grade 12s, exposure to careers in aerospace and defence.
Chairperson of the Africa Aerospace and Defence Youth Development Foundation Kholisile Khumalo says the programme also helps learners identify bursary opportunities and connects them with specialised fields in science, technology and engineering.

Richards Bay To Cape Town Walk Supports Children’s Healthcare

Richards Bay resident Malcolm Johnson is leading a team of walkers on a journey from Richards Bay to Cape Town to raise funds for children receiving specialised care at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
The Heal Our Children Marathon Walk began on 7 September, with the team expected to reach Cape Town in mid October.
The walk is supporting the Children’s Hospital Trust, which raises funds to improve healthcare for seriously ill and injured children.

About 500 student entrepreneurs, academics, investors and industry leaders gathered in Boksburg for the 2026 EDHE Absa Studentpreneurs Indaba.
The two day event focused on helping students turn their ideas and innovations into viable businesses, jobs and economic opportunities.
Students also connected with mentors, investors and industry partners through workshops, pitch sessions and exhibitions.
The organisers urged universities to provide stronger support for student businesses from development to growth.
