Unisa VC promotes entrepreneurship for sustainable growth

Unisa Vice-Chancellor Professor Puleng LenkaBula has called on students to embrace entrepreneurship as a driver of sustainable development.
Speaking at the Studentpreneur Indaba in Pretoria, she said higher education must go beyond academics to equip young people to solve real-world challenges like unemployment and inequality.
The two-day gathering, themed “Entrepreneurship for Sustainability,” brought together students, policymakers, and innovators from across Africa to turn research into practical enterprise.
LenkaBula said Unisa aims to lead in building ethical, environmentally conscious entrepreneurs who create jobs and strengthen communities across the continent.

Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga schools shine at national moot court final

Learners from Ndamase Senior Secondary in the Eastern Cape and Kopanong Senior Secondary in Mpumalanga have been crowned joint champions of the 2025 National Schools Moot Court Competition.
The final took place at the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein, where the teams impressed judges with their arguments on equality and language rights in schools.
More than 900 learners entered this year’s competition, which aims to nurture future legal minds. Kopanong’s Johanna Mashego was named Best Oralist, while Ndamase’s team earned praise for their strong advocacy skills.
The event continues to inspire young South Africans to engage with constitutional values and social justice.
