Hillcrest author promotes library storytelling sessions
Story 3
A Hillcrest-based children’s book author is promoting reading and literacy in KwaZulu-Natal through regular storytelling sessions at a local library.
Michelle Linde started recording herself reading children’s stories during the COVID-19 lockdown to keep young audiences engaged while schools and libraries were closed.
What began as online sessions connecting families during isolation has since developed into a wider effort to sustain a love for reading across communities.
She now runs weekly in-person storytime sessions at Kloof Public Library, where children and parents come together to read, connect and support early literacy.
