Learners at the Lethabong Maths, Science and ICT School of Specialisation in Gauteng have developed a fully drivable electric vehicle, showcasing innovation and skills development in renewable energy.
The project, known as the EV LMSI 1000, was created through the Schools of Specialisation programme and aims to reduce harmful emissions by promoting cleaner transport solutions.
Officials say the initiative equips learners with hands on experience in engineering, technology and problem solving while preparing them for future careers in the automotive and innovation sectors.

Nampo 2026 Focus Turns to Poultry Industry Growth

The annual Nampo Harvest Day is taking place at NAMPO Park near Bothaville in the Free State from the 12th to the 15th of May, bringing together thousands of farmers, agribusinesses and industry leaders from across South Africa.
This year’s focus is the poultry sector, with discussions centred on innovation, investment and the next phase of the Poultry Masterplan aimed at expanding exports and supporting emerging farmers.
