Olievenhoutbosch is among the high-priority areas in Tshwane that will benefit from the city’s newly launched Road Resurfacing Programme for 2024/25.
Announced by MMC for Roads and Transport Tlangi Mogale, the initiative is part of a broader effort to improve road integrity and safety across the metro.
The programme, which began in May, focuses on high-degradation areas such as Olievenhoutbosch, Soshanguve, and Mamelodi, with expected completion by June.
Mogale emphasized that timely resurfacing will extend road lifespans and enhance mobility.
Local resident Noluthando Mbengo expressed optimism, hoping the upgrades will ease the daily struggle caused by deteriorating roads.

Blairgowrie, a suburb in Johannesburg, is celebrating as local paddler Daniel van Eeden has earned national Colours following an impressive performance at the South African Sprint Championships at Roodeplaat Dam.
The young athlete secured seven medals, including three golds, across both K1 and K2 events alongside his partner Josh Worthman.

Daniel has been selected to represent South Africa at the Olympic Hopes Competition in the Czech Republic this September.
