Sanitary towel drive brings support to Greenvale College learners

The Connectedor Foundation has donated sanitary towels to young girls at Greenvale College, in the Westrand, promoting menstrual health and hygiene.
The event which was held on the 20th of February was also supported by several organisations, including Midrand Montessori High, Women of Purpose and the We Lead Africa Organisation.
The We Lead Africa Organisation took the opportunity to engage with learners, offering valuable mentorship, guidance and life skills training, covering topics like first aid and fire starting.
Their inclusive approach addressed both male and female learners, fostering a culture of mutual respect and understanding.

A University of Cape Town student has developed an innovative housing solution aimed at addressing South Africa’s housing shortage while promoting environmental sustainability.
Matimba Mabonda and his team constructed a three-bedroom home in Ennerdale which was built using soil and waste materials. The house, which includes a kitchen, bathroom, living area and garage, was completed in less than a month.
Mabonda believes the approach could transform low-cost and affordable housing by reducing reliance on conventional, carbon-intensive construction materials.
