Two young entrepreneurs from the Eastern Cape are offering a potential solution to rising fuel costs through their company, Style-E Mobility.The business has developed electric motorbikes powered by rechargeable batteries instead of petrol engines. The innovators say the bikes could help delivery drivers and motorists reduce operating costs while easing dependence on fuel. Style-E Mobility CEO Mzingisi Mangqukela says the goal is to make transport both more accessible and more sustainable.

The Smile Foundation says 173 children across South Africa have received corrective surgery through its Smile Week Programme over the past six months.The procedures treated a range of conditions, including cleft lips, cleft palates, facial paralysis and severe burn scarring.The programme is funded by donors and carried out with the support of specialist medical teams and volunteers who work together to provide reconstructive surgery for children in need.

Food Lover’s Market and FoodForward SA have raised more than 16 million meals through the 10th annual Hunger Month campaign held last month.The initiative brought together shoppers, suppliers, staff and partners who donated food and supported efforts to distribute it to people experiencing food insecurity. FoodForward SA says the meals will reach nearly one million people through its food recovery and redistribution network.The campaign forms part of a decade-long partnership that has now delivered more than 37 million meals across South Africa.
