The JDA says Sandton Station stands at 55% completion

The Johannesburg Development Agency says the Sandton station is currently 55% complete.

The project will bring 141 low-entry buses, 13 new stations and safe, affordable public transport to more than 40 000 passengers across areas including Sandton, Marlboro, Wynberg and Greenstone.

The city says it will also transition to an account-based ticketing system, replacing the old automated fare collection model.

The digital leap will help simplify how commuters access and pay for services.

Jonathan Anderson named Dior's new creative director

French fashion house Dior has named Northern Irish designer Jonathan Anderson as the first-ever creative director for both its women's and men's collections.

Anderson was appointed following the departure of Italian Maria Grazia last week, who had presided over the brand's women's collections for the last nine years.

Anderson had already been named as artistic director of the men's collection in April and will now become the first person to run both collections at the fashion house.
