The contribution was made by the Absa Legal Recoveries team as part of its Corporate Social Investment initiative, helping the hospice generate much-needed income to continue serving the community.

Young Filmmaker Takes SA Film Global

A 23-year-old filmmaker from Hammarsdale, Sabelo Khomo, will represent South Africa at the Indie Film Awards in New York after his short film Orì was selected for the international festival.
Khomo wrote, directed and edited the film, which explores African spirituality and healing and was created during the Durban 48 Hour Film Project.
The Durban University of Technology graduate has gained recognition as a visual storyteller, with his work featured at local and international festivals.
Khomo says the opportunity marks an important milestone in his filmmaking career.

This comes as the Recording Industry of South Africa unveils nominees across 25 categories for the 32nd South African Music Awards.
