Sasol campaign improves oral health for 8 000 children

Sasol and the Starfish Greathearts Foundation have reached more than 8 000 children at 11 primary schools in Zamdela, near Sasolburg in the Free State, through their School Oral Health Campaign.
The initiative provided oral hygiene packs, practical demonstrations and lessons to help children develop healthy dental habits and improve their overall wellbeing.
The campaign will next expand to Secunda, Ekandustria and uMkomati, reaching thousands more children and families.

Western Cape expands free bus travel for jobseekers

The Western Cape Mobility Department has expanded its Jobseekers Travel Voucher Programme to George, giving unemployed residents free bus travel while they search for work.
The initiative provides eligible jobseekers with a preloaded GO GEORGE Smart Card that can be used for six free bus trips to attend interviews, submit CVs and access employment opportunities.
The programme has already helped more than 24 000 jobseekers in Cape Town and aims to remove transport costs as a barrier to finding work.
Muneera Allie from the Western Cape Department of Mobility says the registration process is simple.

The VIB Foundation has launched a free 12 month creative hub support programme to help aspiring creatives in Alexandra turn their talents into sustainable businesses.
Founded by television presenter Siphesihle Vazi, the initiative will provide mentorship, business training, networking opportunities and practical skills to creatives in fields including music, fashion, photography, filmmaking and content creation.
The programme is being rolled out in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, with applications now open for aspiring entrepreneurs.
