Creatives in Alexandra will receive business training, mentorship and industry support through a new 12-month programme aimed at helping them build sustainable careers.
The VIB Foundation’s creative hub support programme will train participants in areas including music, fashion, photography, filmmaking and content creation.
The initiative, developed with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, will provide workshops, business coaching and networking opportunities.
Founder Siphesihle Vazi says the programme aims to help creatives turn their skills into businesses.

Grade 9 learner Kian Gregoriou from Stirling High School in KuGompo has collected donations for EL Pet Pals animal shelter in the Eastern Cape.
Kian’s winter donation drive gathered two trolleys of dog food, treats and blankets, as well as R1,646 for the shelter.
The shelter cares for about 200 dogs and 80 cats, many of which rely on community support.
Kian’s initiative will help provide food and warmth for rescued animals during the winter months.

The 43rd Knysna Oyster Festival concluded on Sunday, drawing thousands of visitors to the Garden Route for 10 days of sport, food and family entertainment.
The event provided a boost to local businesses, with restaurants, accommodation providers, shops and tourism operators benefiting from increased visitor spending.
Last year’s festival contributed around R41 million to the local economy and created more than 1 000 temporary jobs.
Organisers say the festival remains focused on supporting local businesses, charities and community initiatives.
