South Africa is hosting its first South African Padel Invitational at Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
Twelve top-ranked global players, including 17-time world champion Fernando ‘Bela’ Belasteguín, will compete in a five-week tournament.
Organisers say the event shows South Africa’s place on the world padel stage and aims to inspire local players.
Padel combines tennis and squash, with players ranging from teenagers to those in their 60s, and an even mix of men and women.
The invitational runs from 15 to 17 August and features live matches, entertainment, DJs, and a festival atmosphere.

This donation forms part of the foundation’s ongoing winter drive aimed at assisting vulnerable communities during this challenging season.

The foundation plans to continue its efforts, with upcoming distributions of more blankets scheduled for areas such as Florida and Fleurhof.

Through these acts of kindness, the foundation hopes to bring relief and support to those most in need during winter.
