Fixing roads in Sandton took centre stage as MMC Kenny Kunene led Operation Restore in Ward 91 before moving into Ward 103. The campaign targets road damage and failing storm water infrastructure.The Johannesburg Rods Agency teams patched potholes, carried out deep repairs, and cleared storm water inlets on key routes such as Katherine Street. More work is planned for Linden, Gary Drive, and nearby areas. Kunene said fast-forming potholes, especially during the rainy season, remain Sandton’s biggest challenge.

Instagram Unveils AI Tool for Feed Control
Instagram has launched an AI-powered feature called Your Algorithm, allowing users to see how their reels feed is curated and adjusted in real time. The tool shows topics the app thinks users like and lets them boost or reduce how often those subjects appear. Meta says the update improves transparency and keeps feeds relevant as interests change. The feature will expand to Explore and other areas, launching first in the US with a global English rollout to follow.

WBHO to Expand Cape Winelands Airport
The Cape Winelands Airport has announced the appointment of the construction company WBHO as it's main contractor for its eight-billion-rand expansion programme.This marks a major step in creating South Africa’s next-generation aviation hub.The project will include a new boutique terminal, upgraded runways, enhanced cargo and logistics operations and a modernised general aviation precinct. The airport’s Deon Cloete says the development could sustain over 100-thousand jobs in its initial 20 years of operation and boost tourism and investment in the Western Cape

SpaceX Eyes IPO
SpaceX is preparing to go public next year and has opened a secondary share sale that would value the company at 800 billion dollars. This is according to a letter to shareholders sent by the company's CFO Bret Johnsen. The Elon Musk-led company's move towards a public listing, which could rank among the largest global initial public offerings, has been largely driven by the rapid expansion of SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet business. This includes plans for direct-to-mobile service and progress in its Starship rocket program for missions to the moon and Mars.
