Find My Hydrant App Speeds Emergency Response
Story 1
The Find My Hydrant app is a new tool helping Edenvale residents and emergency crews locate fire hydrants faster.
Jackie and Shannon Momsen developed the app after struggling to locate a nearby hydrant during a fire in their area last year.
It uses GPS coordinates to map hydrant locations, with 328 already recorded in Edenvale.
The creators hope to expand the map to communities across South Africa.

The initiative will target children in OR Tambo, Alfred Nzo and Amathole who have missed routine vaccines or have not started their vaccinations.

The programme will run until March 2027, with health teams working in communities to find missed children and strengthen local vaccination services.
