SA Tourism and Gauteng launch Tourism Month ahead of World Tourism Day
SA Tourism, in partnership with the Gauteng Tourism Authority, yesterday launched Tourism Month, which kicks off on the 1st of September.

The celebrations will culminate on World Tourism Day which is observed on the 27th of September, highlighting tourism’s vital role in economic growth and in connecting people with diverse places and cultures across the globe.

City of Tshwane invests R304 Million to upgrade its customer care centres
The City of Tshwane has allocated R304 Million to upgrade customer care centres across the city.
The investment will be used to improve infrastructure, enhance staff training and customer services to reduce waiting times and fast track queries.

Municipality officials encourage residents to use the call centres for billing arrangements and other municipal services.

The City says the upgrades are aimed at strengthening service delivery and improve communication between the municipality and residents.

No Loadshedding forecast through Winter and Summer
Electricity and Energy Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has expressed confidence that the country will not experience loadshedding for the remainder of the winter season and through the coming summer months.

​The Minister gave an update on the state of the national grid yesterday.

Ramokgopa, says the positive trends are a direct result of government's investment in Eskom's recovery plan.

SA Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams named for African Cup of Nations
South Africa's Women's and Men's national Hockey Teams have been named for the African Cup of Nations, taking place from the 11th –18th of October in Egypt.

The tournament serves as Africa’s qualifying event for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The SA Women’s team arrives as the queens of African hockey, having lifted the trophy an impressive seven times in a row, while the Men's team will be chasing their ninth African crown,
maintaining an unbeaten record since their return to international sport.
