Banyana to use Algeria friendlies as WAFCON preparation
Teaser / Tailpiece story
South Africa’s women’s national football team, Banyana Banyana, say their two friendly matches against Algeria will be key preparation for the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on 25 July in Morocco, after being postponed last month.
Captain Refiloe Jane says the friendlies will help the team work on tactics and improve weak areas ahead of the competition.
At the same time, midfielder Linda Motlhalo says the postponement has given the team more time to prepare rather than disrupt their plans.
