Pimville Easter Programme Keeps Children Safe During School Holidays
Story 1
A four day Easter holiday programme in Pimville, Soweto provided a safe and engaging space for children during the school break.
The initiative, hosted by the Rainbow Stars Youth Organisation at the Pimville Community Centre from 30 March to 2 April, included games, indigenous activities and educational sessions aimed at keeping children active and off the streets.
Organisers say the programme helped support child safety and youth development in the community, with assistance from volunteers linked to the University of Johannesburg. They add that after school homework support has now resumed following the reopening of schools.
