Joburg launches 2nd phase of Lilian Ngoyi street upgrade

The City of Johannesburg will begin the second phase of the Lilian Ngoyi Street construction project in the CBD, following the completion of road repairs.
While the first phase focused on restoring the road, the second phase will concentrate on enhancing the precinct’s visual appeal.
The corridor was reopened to traffic yesterday, more than two years after it was damaged by an underground gas explosion.
The total cost of the project amounts to R192 million, covering both phases.
