Gauteng Premier rolls out second phase of Nasi Ispani recruitment drive

The Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi launched the second phase of the mass recruitment Nasi Ispani initiative in Katlehong on Thursday which aims to create 45 000 skills development jobs within the next two months.

Successful applicants will receive training and employment in fields such as plumbing, construction, electrical work and the automotive sector.

The Initiative will specifically target youth who are not in employment, education or training

SA Agriculture records 2.8% growth

Meanwhile, the latest outlook indicates better seasonal production conditions for the 2025/26 crop season with the La Nina weather pattern back in the forecast.

SANParks kicks off annual wildflower season

The South African National Parks has announced the official start of the 2025 wildflower season at the West Coast National Park in the Western Cape.

The Postberg section of the park will be open to the public until the 30th of September, offering visitors a rare and unforgettable opportunity to experience the region’s seasonal blooms.

Park authorities have also reported an increase in visitors compared to last year and say over 23,000 people have visited the park since the 15th of August.

South Africa’s Mpho Lakaje honoured at SADC Media Awards

Renowned radio and Television executive producer, Mpho Lakaje, was named the South African winner in the Radio category at the recent SADC Media Awards in Madagascar.

The competition attracted 29 entries from across the SADC region, with South Africa submitting four entries across the award categories.

Government spokesperson Nomonde Mnukwa says Lakaje’s storytelling has amplified African voices and played a vital role in bridging cultural divides.
