The University of Pretoria conferred 169 doctoral degrees during its spring graduation ceremonies at the Hillcrest campus, where more than two-thousand-100 students were robed.
Alongside the doctoral graduates, the university has also awarded 494 masters degrees, 460 honours degrees and 355 bachelor’s degrees.

Chancellor Justice Sisi Khampepe says graduations are a testament to the institution’s long-standing tradition of academic excellence.

The City of Cape Town says its Tourism Development Framework is the metro’s action plan to grow and strengthen the visitor economy.

The latest Economic Value of Tourism Report indicates that Cape Town welcomed 2.4-million visitors last year, who contributed 24.5-billion-rand to the local economy and supported over 106 thousand jobs.

Premier Panyaza Lesufi launched the second phase of the mass recruitment Nasi Ispani initiative in Katlehong on Thursday which aims to create 45 000 skills development jobs within the next two months.

Successful applicants will receive training and employment in fields such as plumbing, construction, electrical work, and the automotive sector.
