The Sandton SPCA can breathe easier after a new borehole pump was installed, restoring water for over 200 animals.
The pump, provided free of charge by Rand Water Boring, ensures the shelter can continue feeding and cleaning without interruptions.
The Parkmore community and Car Service City also donated a 2 050-litre JoJo tank to strengthen backup water storage. General manager Stephen Maila thanked everyone who helped during the crisis, from water deliveries to donations.
The SPCA is still seeking support to cover ongoing maintenance and operational costs.
Every contribution helps the shelter care for its animals.

Hundreds of communities in Sierra Leone’s Bonthe district have signed a carbon agreement with the Africa Conservation Initiative to protect mangroves in the Sherbro River Estuary.
The deal follows carbon justice principles, giving communities 40 to 50 percent of revenue, ensuring free and informed consent, and letting them lead mangrove stewardship.
The project offers alternatives like efficient cookstoves and timber woodlots, while carbon credits will be sold to buyers who meet emissions standards.
