Karp began his marathon journey in 1990 and has since completed only officially sanctioned road marathons and ultras, making his record fully verified.
He chose the Soweto Marathon for this milestone, having run the first official race in 1993 and completed 18 more since. The event is known as The People’s Race, symbolising resilience and unity in South Africa.
At 65, Karp continues to inspire the running community, proving dedication and perseverance can turn a personal passion into a historic achievement.

Treasury Saves Billions Through TARS Initiative

Luke’s family has a strong hockey background, including his father John Grahame, a former NHL goalie, and other relatives involved in professional hockey.
His mother says the project allows Luke to support other children while pursuing his own passion for the sport.
