Johannesburg MMC for Transport, Kenny Kunene, has taken to the streets of Diepsloot as part of Operation Restore, a city-wide drive to fix ageing and damaged roads.
Kunene says many roads have surpassed their life span—some as old as 40 years—while illegal underground mining and heavy rains have worsened the condition of potholes.
Despite the challenges, he says the City is committed to restoring safe and accessible roads for all residents.
His message is clear: fixing Johannesburg’s roads is not just a promise—it’s a priority.
