Mozambique is making a big business move
Story 3
Mozambique is working hard to grow its oil and gas industry and become a strong energy leader in Africa.
The country’s oil company, Petromoc, has joined with Nigeria’s Ai-teo to build Mozambique’s first oil refinery.
This new refinery will help Mozambique use less imported fuel and make more of its own.
It will produce petrol, diesel, jet fuel, and other products, and is expected to be finished in two years.
President Daniel Chapo says the project will create jobs, grow the economy, and help Mozambique sell fuel to other countries too.
The country is also teaming up with Zambia to build a big gas pipeline worth 1.5 billion Dollars
This pipeline will move fuel from the port city of Beira in Mozambique to Ndola in Zambia.
With these projects, Mozambique hopes to become an important energy hub in southern Africa.
