Six outstanding teachers honoured for excellence in education

Six exceptional teachers have been honoured by the FirstRand Foundation's National Teaching Excellence Awards that were held in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education in Sandton last week.
The awards celebrate excellence in literacy, numeracy, innovation and digital learning.
The teachers will be embarking on a project-based international study tour to Denmark to benchmark educational systems, engage in global best practices, and bring innovative teaching methods back to South Africa.
The award-winning educators are among a select group in a sector of more than 400 000 teachers nationwide.

The service has been designed to provide a convenient and reliable transport option for supporters who will be travelling along the marathon route, as significant road closures are expected throughout the City of eThekwini on race day.
