Fourways volunteers are using knitting to support people in need this winter.
Members of Community Hours’ Knit and Natter groups gathered at Cedar Square on 11 July to make blankets, beanies and other handmade items for charity.
The group creates donations for vulnerable communities, schools and children in hospitals.
The event also brought knitters together to share skills, build friendships and support local volunteer work.

A new pathway to international sport is opening for African athletes as the NFL expands its presence on the continent.
The National Football League hosted its third annual flag football competition in Kenya, bringing together teams from Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt.
Egypt won the men’s title, while Nigeria claimed the women’s competition. The event also gave NFL scouts a chance to identify players who could compete at the highest level.
Flag football will make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, creating new opportunities for African athletes to qualify and represent their countries.
