Knitters Stitch Together Blankets for Charity in Broadacres

Community crafters gathered at Reflection Pizza Bar in Johannesburg for a Valentine’s-themed knitting drive hosted by volunteers from 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day.
Known as the KnitWits, the group spent the day crocheting and knitting pink, red and white squares that will be stitched together into blankets.
The handmade blankets will first be displayed at a community showcase before being donated to people in need.
Organisers say the event combines creativity with giving back, while bringing residents together around a shared cause

The fellowship offers full university funding, mentorship, and skills development. Applicants must be South African citizens planning approved degrees at selected universities, with household income under one million rand.
