Johannesburg Water upgrades pipelines in Blairgowrie
Story 1
Johannesburg Water has completed a major pipeline replacement project in Blairgowrie, part of the city’s ongoing water infrastructure renewal programme.
The project replaced 750 metres of ageing asbestos cement pipes with modern, corrosion-resistant MPVC pipes, and included new fire hydrants, valves, and domestic water meters.
The upgrade is designed to reduce leaks, improve water pressure, and ensure a more reliable supply for homes and businesses.
According to Johannesburg Water project manager Tsakani Ngobeni, the new pipes are more durable, easier to install, and safer for the environment and public health.
