Imvelo Projects and Stuff hosts Career Day workshop

Level Up Soweto and Imvelo Projects and Stuff hosted a Career Day workshop on February 7 in Protea Glen, Soweto, for over 100 grades 11 and 12 learners.
The workshop gave students practical insights into careers in agriculture, journalism, and other fields, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
Learners also took part in an essay competition imagining themselves as cabinet ministers, building leadership skills and critical thinking.
Imvelo Projects & Stuff Director, Tumelo Pride, says by connecting learners with industry professionals and hands-on activities, their goal is to equip them with the knowledge and confidence to pursue their chosen career paths.

10-year-old Riley van Eck saves SPCA
Story 2
Ten-year-old Riley van Eck of Grey Junior School acted to help the Uitenhage SPCA after it was ordered to vacate its 50-year-old property.
Riley emailed his principal, filmed a short video appeal, and shared it online, raising R10,600 through voucher sales in just five days.
The video received more than 55,000 views and provided funds to support the SPCA’s relocation and care for animals.
The SPCA has thanked Riley for his kindness, courage and a huge heart.
Riley’s initiative shows how one young person can make a tangible difference for animals and the community.

The Minister says South Africa continues to make progress in environmental restoration, noting that the country surpassed its target last year by planting one million trees in a single day:
