The Joburg Film Festival has announced its 2026 programme, celebrating African and global storytelling.
The festival taking placein March across multiple Johannesburg venues, will screen more than 60 films selected from 691 submissions spanning Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.
Audiences can attend premieres, filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions and masterclasses, connecting with creators and industry professionals.
Tickets, priced from R50 to R200, went on sale on 30 January.

MultiChoice Group hands over multipurpose sports court

MultiChoice Group has handed over a multipurpose sports court to St Mary’s Secondary School in Mahikeng.
The court enables seven-a-side soccer, netball, modified hockey and volleyball, giving learners access to safe, on-site sporting facilities.
The handover followed a physical education training programme that equipped educators to deliver structured and inclusive sport lessons.
The company says this project forms part of the Let’s Play initiative, which invested over R40 million in school sport across South Africa and reached more than 117,000 children in 2025.
