Beauty In Ability Celebrates Young Disabled Talents

Afrika Tikkun has hosted its second Beauty in Ability pageant, giving 20 young people with disabilities a platform to showcase their talents.
The event was held in Johannesburg on 31 July, with finalists selected from four Afrika Tikkun centres.
Yanga Gongwana won the Mr Ability title, while Nonhlanhla Nxasana was crowned Miss Ability.
The pageant promotes disability inclusion by giving young people opportunities to build confidence and celebrate their abilities.

Kearsney College Choir from KwaZulu-Natal has won five major awards at the 2026 World Choir Festival in Hong Kong.
The choir took gold in the Youth Choir and Show Choir categories and won the Jury Prize for its overall performance.
It competed against more than 70 choirs from 19 countries, making it the festival’s most awarded ensemble.
