The Katlehong-born artist regularly performs at traffic lights around the city and posts videos of his performances online.
He has been spotted performing in areas including Rosebank and Sunninghill, where commuters have become familiar with his voice.
Yika’s street performances are beginning to open doors.
A video shared online shows a police officer approaching him after a performance and asking for his contact details for a potential gig-----the video has received more than 61-thousand likes on Facebook.

Expanded Edge Hospital Improves Specialised Care

The expanded Edge Day Hospital in Gqeberha has opened, increasing access to specialised medical procedures.
The facility has four theatres and 23 beds, which are expected to help reduce patient backlogs and improve access to treatment.
The expansion was made possible through a partnership between the public and private sectors.
The Eastern Cape Health Department's Acting HOD, Dr Nthandeki Xamlashe says the project will help improve healthcare delivery in the province:

Smile Foundation Celebrates Women At Breakfast

Smile Foundation brought women together at its annual Women’s Day Breakfast at Inanda Club in Johannesburg on August 8.
The event raised awareness of the foundation’s work supporting children who need reconstructive surgery for conditions including cleft lips, burns and facial differences.
Guests also launched the Socks for Smiles campaign, which will raise funds and promote inclusion through a mismatched-socks day on October 16.
The breakfast also featured talks on artificial intelligence, happiness and women supporting one another.

Mercedes-Benz Expands Promaths Programme In Eastern

Mercedes-Benz South Africa is investing six-million-rand to expand the Promaths Programme in the Eastern Cape.
The programme will support Grade 10 and 11 learners from 18 schools in Buffalo City with extra Mathematics and Physical Science tuition.
Learners will also receive career guidance, while teachers will get development support and exposure to STEM careers.
The initiative will help more young people prepare for further study and jobs in high-demand fields.
