3RC Celebrates 25 Years of inspiring South African youth

The organization behind the popular Rocking Future career expos that help high school students explore post-school study and career options, celebrated its 25th anniversary on the 6th of August at the International Hotel School in Benoni, marking a quarter-century of motivating and inspiring South African youth.

Founded as a unique blend of motivational shows and career guidance, 3RC combines music, storytelling, and study options to help students discover their futures.


The programme has grown to reach 240 schools and around 35 000 Grade 12 learners each year, featuring 46 private tertiary institutions.

3RC’s expos promote accredited private institutions that offer qualifications that are equivalent to State Universities and connect students to employers through practical work placements, preparing them for the job market.

The summit comes in response to the growing need for a qualified, inclusive and future-ready workforce in the aviation industry in order to support long-term growth and resilience across the sector.

The International Air Transport Association in South Africa emphasises that the aviation sector is not only a vital economic engine, but also a key connector of nations and a powerful catalyst for global and local economic growth.

The transport Minister Barbara Creecy says The International Civil Aviation Organization has forecast a global demand of over two million qualified aviation personnel by 2030.

Capitec to roll out smart ID and Passport applications Across South Africa

Capitec Bank has confirmed plans to introduce Smart ID and passport services at select branches starting later this year.

The rollout will begin with 10 branches and expand to 100 branches by early 2026.

The announcement follows the Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber’s confirmation that both Capitec and FNB bank have joined the Department of Home Affairs’ digital transformation initiative, that aims to enable Smart ID and passport services through banking apps and facilitate applications at hundreds more bank branches across the country in both urban and remote areas.

Capitec Bank says Initially, the service will only be available in-branch, but says customers can expect app-based applications and home delivery options in the future.
