Bedfordview residents and local groups are leading efforts to restore the Bill Stewart Nature Reserve after ongoing security and environmental challenges.
Nature Reserve Clean Ups SA is driving a plan that includes repairing fencing, clearing invasive plants and improving safety across the 176 acre site.
A community clean up is scheduled for 25 April at 08:00, with the aim of restoring the reserve as a safe space for recreation and environmental use.

Around 500 young men from Amaoti 3 Secondary School have been challenged to rethink what it means to be responsible men during a recent “Man-Up” event aimed at shaping positive future role models.
Speakers encouraged learners to reflect on their choices and what it takes to become effective fathers, husbands and community leaders in the years ahead, stressing that change begins with decisions made today.
Organisers say the session forms part of ongoing efforts to address issues such as fatherlessness, with follow-up workshops planned to continue supporting the learners.

Residents in Pretoria North are being encouraged to make use of free walk in counselling services offered by the Pretoria North Crisis Centre for anyone facing trauma, grief, stress or emotional distress.
The centre provides a safe and confidential space with trained counsellors available on weekdays from 10:00 to 12:00, along with after hours support via phone and WhatsApp.
Officials say the aim is to make emotional support more accessible and ensure people do not have to face challenges alone.
Community members are also encouraged to share the service with those who may need help.
