Gauteng signs agreements to boost community support

Gauteng’s Social Development Department has signed agreements with local non-profit organisations to improve support for vulnerable communities across the province.
The partnerships will help expand services such as food support, care and social assistance to people who rely on community organisations for daily help.
MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko says the agreements are meant to strengthen cooperation so that more people in need can be reached and supported.
The department says it will monitor the work of the organisations to make sure the support translates into real help for families in areas including Johannesburg and other parts of Gauteng.

100 learners compete in engineering contests in Bloemfontein

About 100 high school learners took part in the South African Institute of Civil Engineering Bridge Building and Aqualibrium competitions in Bloemfontein.
Teams of three built and tested models in engineering and water-based challenges.
Winners received prizes and qualification opportunities for national competitions.

Table Mountain nominated for Africa’s top tourist attraction award

Table Mountain in Cape Town has been nominated for Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction at the 2026 World Travel Awards.
Voting opened on 30 March 2026 and runs until 17 July, with the winner decided by public vote.
The attraction has previously won the category five times between 2014 and 2022 and is listed as one of the New7Wonders of Nature.
The nomination highlights its role as a major tourist site in South Africa.

Spanish football league partners to develop youth football in Africa
