Learners from Springs in the East Rand attended the 19th edition of the FNB Art Fair at the Sandton Convention Centre last week, as part of an excursion that was organised by the Gauteng Arts for Public schools.
The group included young artists and visual art students from several local institutions including the East Rand School of the Art, Buckingham Academy and three primary schools.


FNB Art Joburg provided complimentary tickets for learners from under resourced public schools in the GAPS programme.
The excursion aims to expose learners to contemporary art and professional art spaces outside the classroom.

The literacy organisation Nalibali will bring reading, storytelling, language and cultural activities to children, families and communities across seven provinces this heritage month.

The initiative aims to promote literacy while celebrating South Africa’s diverse languages, cultures and heritage.
Nal’ibali is calling on organisations, communities and partners to support the campaign through collaboration, helping to amplify literacy initiatives across the country.

eThekwini mayor, Cyril Xaba has announced that the GO!Durban’s bus service will go live in December this year.
The first service will operate along the C3 Corridor between Bridge City and Pinetown, connecting surrounding communities and providing the first operational component of the city's integrated public transport network.

The remaining Phase One services and the Inner-City Distribution Service, are expected to be introduced from the first quarter of 2027.
Xaba says routes will be reviewed and optimised to improve connections between communities, key destinations and different public transport services across eThekwini.
