Honest Australian Teen Rewarded for Returning Lost Cash
Story 3
A 17-year-old from Australia’s Gold Coast has won hearts for his honesty after returning about R43,000 he found outside a gas station.
Josh Pache spotted the cash near Fox’s Pantry in Tugun and handed it in without thinking twice. The money belonged to local tradesman Daniel McKellar, who later tracked Josh down through social media to thank him.
McKellar gave Josh about R12,000 as a reward, offered him a job, and started a fundraiser that’s collected more than R120,000 to help him buy his first pickup truck.
He then donated the remaining R30,000 to a fundraiser for a cancer patient’s brain surgery, saying he wanted to pay the kindness forward.
