Running until today, the three‑day event is dedicated to tackling Africa’s pressing water and sanitation issues through innovation, collaboration, and actionable solutions.
Sandile Mkhize, CEO of the Umgeni–Tugela Water Board, highlighted the conference’s mission, stating that the gathering is an opportunity to review current methods, sharing knowledge, and establishing clear timelines to improve South Africa’s water infrastructure and services:

Learners from Soweto and Eldorado Park schools joined environmental organisations at the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens to mark the International Day of Climate Action last month.
This global event raises awareness and inspires meaningful action to address climate change, protect the planet and create a sustainable future.
The event was hosted by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment together with the City of Johannesburg, UJ, EnviroGreen Projects and Urban Spaces Management.
Event organiser, Tebogo Tema, says the mission and vision of EnviroGreen Projects is to instil knowledge about waste and its role in the climate and overall environment in local communities, adding that he hopes that attendees take all the information they received and apply it in their daily lives.

SA's citrus industry records strong export season

Citrus Growers’ Association CEO, Boitshoko Ntshabele, says South Africa’s citrus industry has recorded its strongest export season to date.
He says growers packed over R200 million cartons for international markets, a 22% increase from last year.
Dr Ntshabele says favourable weather, improved logistics, and new orchards contributed to the record-breaking performance.
He says the bumper season shows the sector’s potential to drive exports and job creation.
