Olive House launches 67-day impact campaign for 25 years

Olive House Education Centre in Benoni is marking its 25th anniversary by launching a 67 Days of Impact campaign from 13 May to 18 July 2026.
The organisation is calling on South Africans to donate food, clothing, toiletries and stationery, volunteer at its programmes, and support fundraising activities linked to Nelson Mandela Day.
Founded in 2001 as a soup kitchen, Olive House now runs an early childhood development centre, agricultural training programme, computer courses and a daily feeding scheme serving up to 300 meals.
The campaign aims to expand community support and help sustain the organisation’s services for the next 25 years.

PAMSA launches Engineering Bursary Programme for chemical engineers

The Paper and Allied Manufacturers of South Africa has launched its 2027/2028 masters in engineering bursary programme to support the next generation of chemical engineers.
The initiative aims to strengthen skills development and promote innovation in the circular bioeconomy within the pulp and paper sector.
The organisation’s Jane Molony says the programme offers a two-year bursary worth 320-thousand-rand for final-year or recent chemical engineering graduates to study at selected South African universities:

Swarts launches Presidential One Billion Trees Programme

Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, deputy minister, Bernice Swarts has officially launch the Presidential One Billion Trees Programme at the South African National Biodiversity Institute in Pretoria.
The initiative is under the theme, “My Tree, My Oxygen.
Plant Yours Today.” Swarts says as part of the Presidential Ten-Million Trees Programme, the campaign encourages all sectors including government, business, and individuals to pledge and plant trees to combat climate change.
She called on collaboration in planting ten-million trees later this year on Heritage Day, 24 September 2026.

Rolling Stones announces album release

The Rolling Stones will release their new album, Foreign Tongues, on July 10.
The band announced the album while releasing a new single, In The Stars, and sharing studio footage featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood.
The record follows 2023’s Hackney Diamonds, the group’s first album in 18 years.
Foreign Tongues will include guest appearances from Paul McCartney and Robert Smith of The Cure.
