Bikers bring support to East Rand community

Members of the Ulysses SA Motorcycle Association’s Far East chapter hit the road on March 7 to deliver donations to four organisations across the East Rand.
Thanks to funds raised at a Barnyard Theatre competition, the group provided groceries, toiletries, and pet food worth 15,000 rand to Sonop Caravan Park, Mother’s Nest, and the Boksburg and Brakpan SPCA.
Volunteers, including 84-year-old rider Stuart Farquharson, handed over the goods in convoy, bringing smiles to families and supporting children, pets, and vulnerable community members.

Brittany Bell was filmed comforting a toddler whose mother was struggling during a flight layover. The waitress stepped in to help calm the child while still serving her tables.
The child’s mother later shared the moment online and started a fundraiser to thank Bell, with donations raising thousands of dollars.
