Randburg Community Rallies Behind Fundraiser for Cheshire Home Resident
Story 1
Community members turned out in support of a fundraising soccer and netball tournament at Old Parks Sports Club in Randburg to help Ann Harding Cheshire Home resident Tom Sundawo cover his rent.
Sundawo became a paraplegic after being shot during an armed robbery at work. While he receives compensation, it is not enough to cover his monthly living costs.
The annual tournament, which began as a gathering among friends 12 years ago, has grown into a community fundraiser featuring sport, food, music and an auction.
Sundawo thanked supporters for attending, saying the event was a huge success.
