City Power Expands Smart Meters in Midrand

City Power’s Midrand Service Delivery Centre (SDC) is continuing its major smart metering project to improve electricity management for residents.
The initiative cormmenced in Mayibuye in November 2023, where City Power successfully normalised the area.
On June 3, the entity expanded the project to Klipfontein, following discussions with Ward 32 councillor Dimakatso Moloisane and his leadership team.
As part of this rollout, it has distributed keypads to Klipfontein residents, giving them greater control over their electricity purchases.
Officials hosted educational sessions on May 18 and 24, aiming to provide a stable electricity supply and empower the community to manage their energy consumption more effectively.

In a Youth Month boost, 160 young people in Hammanskraal are getting hands-on agricultural training thanks to a new project by Gauteng Social Development and Rebafenyi Youth Centre.
The Amandebele Ba Lebelo Tribal Authority donated eight hectares of land for the initiative, which focuses on crop production and agri-business skills.
MEC Faith Mazibuko says the goal is to help youth become self-reliant and break the cycle of poverty.
Tribal leader Nicholus Moeketsi says the project gives young people purpose and a chance to earn a living.
For many, it's a step toward food security, dignity and economic opportunity.

Featuring works by artists such as Penny Siopis, Judith Mason, Sam Nhlengethwa, William Kentridge, and Miriam Ndebele, the exhibition reimagines the corporate collection as a living resource.
The Art Lab is open to the public with free admission. It is located at Shop 33-34, Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton City, and is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and on Sundays and public holidays from 9am to 1pm
