Education Support Forum connects job seekers with opportunities in the green energy sector

The Education Support Forum in Fourways announced the successful completion of its 12 month program, which delivered impactful training to 468 individuals securing 120 permanent job placements.

The initiative aims to equip youth and women in underserved communities, with the skills needed to thrive in the growing green energy sector.

The programme offers hands-on training in areas such as solar installation and energy efficiency.

Project manager Khutso Bapela, says the initiative was launched to prepare communities for future work opportunities that are inclusive and sustainable.

The Department of Basic Education spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga says the Department received 1.9 million applications for the education assistants programme.

The Presidential Youth Employment Initiative and the Presidential Youth Stimulus are designed to provide temporary work experience and skills development for young South Africans.
The initiatives place youth in various sectors, including schools as education assistants.

Mhlanga confirmed that 204,000 young people have been placed in schools nationwide from the 2nd of June as part of Phase Five of the Basic Education Employment Initiative.

Peyton Connor qualifies for 2025 Dance World Cup in Spain

Cape Town dancer, Peyton Connor, has been selected for the South African Dance Team which is set to compete at the 2025 Dance World Cup in Spain.

The 14-year-old has been a dedicated dancer since the age of 5 and is a member of K&J Dance Unlimited.
Some of Peyton’s notable achievements include winning first place in the A League Mega crew at Dance star South Africa and winning first place at the Hip-Hop Megabrew Gold Division.

Peyton was also previously selected for the Dance Star World Finals in Croatia, the Talent Africa Finals in Serbia, and the SACOPA World Championships in the USA.
