Cape Town residents can now support the homelessness through a digital voucher system that replaces cash donations with practical assistance.The Mi-change initiative, run by U-turn Homeless Ministries and MES, allows the public to purchase a R15 voucher by scanning a SnapScan QR code linked to a registered participant. The vouchers can be redeemed for essential items such as food and basic necessities while also connecting recipients with support services. Because the vouchers are digital, they cannot be sold or exchanged for cash, helping ensure donations are used for their intended purpose. Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has welcomed the initiative, saying it offers an innovative way for residents to support those in need.

Wheelchair users can now enjoy easier access to Scottburgh Main Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast thanks to a community fundraising campaign.Adaptive sports advocate Sue Martin raised R60,000 in just six weeks to purchase a specialist all-terrain beach wheelchair. The chair is now available free of charge at Surfers Paradise, giving people living with disabilities the opportunity to experience the beach without the challenge of soft sand.
The initiative is helping make one of the South Coast's popular beaches more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Badgers Karate Academy celebrated an outstanding performance at the International Shorei Martial Arts Academy Championships, bringing home 14 medals.The young karateka won five gold, four silver and five bronze medals across the Kata and Kumite(Koomee teh) divisions, showcasing their skill, discipline and determination. The success follows another strong showing at the Fourways Challenge Interclub Tournament in May, where the team also claimed an impressive medal haul.
