Produced by LG Electronics South Africa in partnership with MultiChoice, the six-part series highlights the power of gratitude, generosity and community support through meaningful 24-hour makeovers. Each episode showcases how the upgraded facilities and resources help charities continue their work.

Mandela Week Brings Lasting Change For Learners

The Love Trust is encouraging volunteers to make a lasting difference this Mandela Day through a week-long programme supporting learners at Nokuphila School in Thembisa. Instead of focusing only on the traditional 67 minutes of service, the organisation has expanded its Mandela Day activities across five days to strengthen the school's learning environment without disrupting classes. Volunteers will help prepare meals, maintain vegetable gardens and school grounds, paint and improve therapy spaces, organise the library and take part in a sports day on 17 July.
The programme gives volunteers the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of young learners by improving their school environment, supporting their well-being and helping create better opportunities for their future.

Wheelchair Challenge Drives Inclusion And Support

Business leaders and community members are gaining a new perspective on life with a disability by taking part in the annual SBS Wheelchair Challenge in KwaZulu Natal.Participants spend a day completing their normal routines in a wheelchair to better understand the barriers many people with disabilities face every day. The initiative also brings together businesses, non-profit organisations and the eThekwini Spears wheelchair basketball team to raise awareness and funds for mobility support. The fundraising event includes a friendly wheelchair basketball match, with team registrations, raffles and donations.

Kelsey Pfendler Rows Into Record Books

American rower Kelsey Pfendler has completed a record-breaking solo journey from California to Hawaii, becoming the fastest person ever to row the route alone. Pfendler arrived in Honolulu after spending under 44 days at sea aboard her 21-foot boat, Lily, completing the more than 2,400-mile crossing. She set out from California in May with the goal of becoming the first American woman and fastest woman to complete the solo mid-Pacific crossing. Her record-breaking time beat the previous women's record of 86 days and the men's record of 52 days, making her the fastest known solo rower on the route.
