Mandela Week Brings Lasting Change For Learners
Story 1
The Love Trust is encouraging volunteers to make a lasting difference this Mandela Day through a week-long programme supporting learners at Nokuphila School in Thembisa. Instead of focusing only on the traditional 67 minutes of service, the organisation has expanded its Mandela Day activities across five days to strengthen the school's learning environment without disrupting classes. Volunteers will help prepare meals, maintain vegetable gardens and school grounds, paint and improve therapy spaces, organise the library and take part in a sports day on 17 July.
The programme gives volunteers the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of young learners by improving their school environment, supporting their well-being and helping create better opportunities for their future.
