New Water and Sanitation Youth Network launched at National Youth Indaba in Boksburg

The South African Water and Sanitation Youth Network was launched at the National Youth Indaba Conference held in Boksburg between the 30th of June and the 2nd of July.
The gathering was held over three days, by the Department of Water and Sanitation in partnership with Rand Water, bringing together young leaders, industry experts and key stakeholders for insightful engagements on the pressing challenges and emerging opportunities within South Africa’s water sector.
The indaba was held under the national theme: Skills for a Changing World – Empowering Youth for Meaningful Economic Participation.
The deputy director-general in the Department of Water and Sanitation, Nthabiseng Fundakubi, says the youth play a pivotal role in shaping the water and sanitation sector.

Starlink secures Licence to operate in India

The satellite internet provider Starlink has recently been granted a licence to operate in India, almost three years after submitting its initial application, clearing the path for the company to launch its services across the country.
Starlink intends to include a free one-month trial with every device purchase as part of its launch strategy, giving users the opportunity to experience the service before committing to monthly subscriptions.
Starlink has launched more than 6,000 satellites so far and aims to expand its network to 42,000 satellites by 2027.
