The Remitly survey of 4,500 participants across 25 countries ranked South Africa first, followed by the Philippines and the United States.
South Africans contributed money, volunteered time, and supported their communities, actions that led to the top ranking.

SA 28-member athletics team head o USA for World Athletics Cross Country Championships

Athletics South Africa has sent a 28-member team to the United States for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee on Saturday.
The squad will compete across senior men’s and women’s 10km races, U20 men’s and women’s events, and the senior mixed 4x2km relay.
Adriaan Wildschutt will lead the senior men’s 10km, building on strong performances at the 2024 Olympics, 2025 World Championships, and a South African half-marathon record.
Glenrose Xaba will race in her fifth consecutive World Cross Country Championships after sweeping all 5-events in the 2025 SPAR Grand Prix series.
Coach Violet Semenya is confident the squad can compete effectively across events.
