Diepkloof Launches Support Programme for Matric Learners

A Diepkloof organisation is launching a counselling and support programme following the release of matric results on January 12.
Kaboentle Women Power and Development Projects says the programme is aimed at learners who may struggle to cope with their results.
The initiative is set to begin on January 15 at the Quaker Recreation Centre in Zone 4, offering counselling, support groups, and mental health assistance. Founder Monica Moagi says it will also provide guidance on matric rewrites, TVET college applications, and skills training, emphasizing that failing matric is not the end of the road.

Brazil becomes largest country to eliminate mother-to-child HIV transmission

Brazil has been validated by the World Health Organization as the most populous country in the Americas to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
The milestone was achieved through Brazil’s universal, free health care system, which provides routine prenatal care, HIV testing, and timely treatment. Vertical transmission of HIV in Brazil has been reduced to below 2 percent, and coverage for prenatal care exceeds 95 percent.
Globally, Brazil is the first country with more than 100 million people to reach this standard, joining 19 countries worldwide recognized for eliminating mother-to-child HIV transmission
